Hydrologic Statement
National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA
1023 AM EDT Thu Sep 26 2024

Past 24 hour precipitation...
Scattered showers saw areas near and east of Pittsburgh total
between 0.01 and 0.25 inches. A swath of thunderstorms saw areas
of the Muskingum and Ohio basins total between 0.50 and 1.50
inches.

Forecast precipitation for the next 48 hours...
Scattered showers are expected to continue through the day mainly
south of Pittsburgh. Moisture from Helene looks to begin to impinge
on the region during the early morning hours of Friday. However,
the bulk of the moisture is expected to be well south of us and a
likely uptick in showers will not lead to a significant rise in
accumulation. Basin average rainfall is forecast to range from 0.10
to 0.50 inches, with the highest totals coming out of areas south
of Interstate 70.

River trends...
Repeated rainfall has seen area rivers rise minimally. Additional
light rainfall over the next 48 hours is not expected to
heavily influence overall flow.
