...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN ALAMOSA...
SOUTHEASTERN RIO GRANDE AND CONEJOS COUNTIES THROUGH 715 PM MDT...

At 628 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 13 miles west of Capulin, or 25 miles northeast of
Chama, moving northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Monte Vista, Sanford, La Jara, Capulin, Cumbres Pass, Platoro, and
Bountiful.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Pueblo.
