998 FNUS55 KREV 300901 FWFREV Fire Weather Planning Forecast National Weather Service Reno NV 201 AM PDT Sun Jun 30 2024 ...ISOLATED DRY THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING OVER FAR NORTHEASTERN CA AND NORTHWESTERN NV... ...BREEZY AND DRY CONDITIONS BRING ELEVATED TO LOCALLY CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TO WESTERN NV MONDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING... .DISCUSSION... Isolated, mainly dry thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening over the Surprise Valley and Lassen-northern Washoe-Humboldt- northern Pershing counties. Another day of dry and breezy conditions is expected Monday, which will generate elevated to locally critical fire weather conditions over western Nevada. This may exacerbate any holdover lightning ignitions from today. Strong high pressure will bring hot temperatures, extremely dry conditions, and light afternoon breezes this week. Note: Thunderstorms imply gusty and erratic winds. Note: Mixing Heights are in feet above ground level of the valley floors.
