At 426 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Cottonwood Pass to 8 miles southwest of Hiland to 12 miles southwest of Castle Gardens. Movement was east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Strong thunderstorms will be near... Hiland around 430 PM MDT. Waltman, Ervay, and Waltman Rest Area around 440 PM MDT. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding.
