.DISCUSSION...A weak weather system today will increase rain showers
chances by late morning. Steadier rain may increase tonight with a
convergence zone developing in the vicinity of Quilcene. Shower
potential continues on Saturday, with heavier showers possible
at times. In addition, the threat for thunderstorms increases late
Saturday morning and continues through Saturday afternoon. At this
time, the threat for isolated thunderstorms remains highest along
the east Olympics, due to a convergence zone that will develop
Saturday afternoon likely between Brinnon and Port Townsend.
The probability of thunderstorms in this region is approximately 30
to 35%, with most other areas of the Olympics being 20-25%. The
threat for thunderstorms diminishes after sunset on Saturday.
The main threat for any storms that do form will be lightning, brief
heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and small hail.
