Little change to the forecast the next 24 hours. Short wave ridging
will prevail across the southern Plains, with dry and unseasonably
warm temperatures continuing. Skies will be mostly clear tonight,
with overnight lows in the low to mid 70s. Temperatures tomorrow
will be very near or perhaps a degree or two warmer than today,
with afternoon highs topping out in the mid and upper 90s.

Above-normal and dry conditions are expected to continue on Friday
as the ridge persists. Things start to get a little more interesting
as a shortwave trough approaches this weekend from the west. Models
are still going back and forth on exactly how much of an impact this
system will have on our weather here in West Central Texas, so
there`s still quite a bit of uncertainty in our forecast starting
late Saturday and continuing into early next week. Right now, it
looks like the majority of rainfall with this system should remain
to our north. However, the GFS is showing the potential for some
rain this weekend through Monday along a frontal boundary associated
with this upper low. It looks like we could see breezy conditions
this weekend, with winds around 10 to 20 mph, with gusts approaching
30 mph at times. Additional rain chances will be possible along the
frontal boundary as its pushed south through our area Tuesday into
Wednesday. Cooler temperatures will accompany this system, likely
dropping highs back near-normal in the mid to upper 80s.

Expect some scattered afternoon cumulus clouds this afternoon,
with mainly clear skies to tonight. South winds will gust between
15 and 20 knots primarily at KSJT and KJCT this afternoon, with
light winds across the terminals by early evening. Could see some
stratus develop again towards daybreak across the southern
terminals but coverage uncertainty will preclude mentioning in
the forecast at this time.
