407 FZUS52 KTAE 150908 SRFTAE Surf Zone Forecast National Weather Service Tallahassee FL 508 AM EDT Sat Jun 15 2024 .THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK... Early this morning, offshore buoys were observing 1-foot seas and light breezes, supporting little more than a moderate risk of rip currents today. Development of a nearshore afternoon seabreeze will increase surf heights to near 2 feet, but these will be lower-energy locally-generated wind waves. Surf heights and rip risk will increase sharply tonight and Sunday morning, in response to development of a large area of moderate southeast breezes over the eastern Gulf. Monday through Wednesday will be characterized by a prolonged period of unseasonably strong easterly breezes, which will keep the rip current risk squarely in the high category.
