Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado
National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO
209 PM MDT Mon Jun 10 2024

.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Tuesday...Scattered thunderstorms are
expected to track across the Front Range this afternoon. As storms
move onto the plains, they will increase and form a line as they
track eastward across the plains. Storms are expected to end mid
to late evening over eastern Colorado.

High pressure aloft begins to build over Colorado Tuesday.
Scattered to isolated storms will be possible south of I-70 while
it should be storm from north of I-70. The airmass dries a little
with relative humidities staying above 25 percent.

LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...

Hot temperatures and sunny skies are in the forecast for
Wednesday and Thursday. Minimum relative humidity will drop to the
teens or even single digits across the plains and foothills.
While winds will be low enough such that no critical fire weather
conditions are expected, afternoon showers could create gusty
winds that lead to localized elevated fire weather conditions. It
will be cooler with storms on Friday and Saturday. Sunday looks to
be very hot with increasing winds. Smoke dispersal will be good
or better each day across our forecast area.

...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds...
...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds...
...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid...
...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone
groups and may not match the actual forecast values
                    shown in those groups...
