...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for south central Arkansas,
southwest Arkansas, north central Louisiana, northwest Louisiana,
southeast Oklahoma, east Texas and northeast Texas.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

The combination of high humidity and daytime temperatures in the
middle to upper 90s will result in peak heat index values climbing to
between above 110 degrees today. Therefore, an Excessive Heat Warning
is in effect until 8 PM CDT this evening.

Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms will be possible this
afternoon through this evening across portions of Louisiana and Deep
East Texas south of a line from Lufkin Texas to Monroe Louisiana. The
strongest storms may produce gusty winds, brief heavy rainfall, and
dangerous cloud to ground lightning. However, severe weather is not
anticipated at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Scattered thunderstorms will be possible in most locations during the
day Sunday and mainly across Louisiana and portions of Deep East
Texas on Monday. Isolated thunderstorms will remain possible each
afternoon Tuesday through Friday from south of a line from Lufkin
Texas to Monroe Louisiana. Severe weather is not anticipated at this
time.

Despite the rain chances, the high heat and humidity will continue
through Friday. Heat index values are expected to climb above 105
degrees each day, and may climb above 110 degrees in many locations,
especially Tuesday through Friday.
