Issued by NWS Denver/Boulder, CO
888 FNUS55 KBOU 230942 FWFBOU Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO 342 AM MDT Sun Jun 23 2024 .DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Upper ridging will be over the forecast area today and tonight. Thunderstorms coverage will be minimal this afternoon and what storms there are will produce little rain but some outflow winds. Minimum afternoon humidity levels will drop into the teens for much of the forecast area this afternoon. Winds will be fairly weak. Smoke dispersal will be good to very good across the forecast area for a few hours this afternoon. Critical fire weather conditions are not expected. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday through Thursday...Upper level high will bring very warm conditions Monday and Tuesday. Scattered high-based showers and thunderstorms are expected Monday afternoon. Outflow winds to 50 mph will be the main threat from this activity. Any rainfall will be brief and light to moderate. Better moisture arrives for Wednesday and Thursday with increased chances for showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall. Temperatures will only fall a few degrees for Wednesday and Thursday with highs over northeast Colorado in the lower to mid 90s. Other than gusty winds associated with the showers and thunderstorms, winds will generally be on the light side. ...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds... ...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds... ...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid... ...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone groups and may not match the actual forecast values shown in those groups...
