At 803 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Walcott to Marston, moving east at 30 mph. Trained spotters indicated estimated maximum winds near 70 mph north of Muscatine. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Davenport, Durant, Walcott, Blue Grass, Buffalo, Andalusia, Reynolds, Taylor Ridge, Montpelier, Illinois City, Fairport, Edgington, Stockton, Clark`s Ferry Recreation Area, West Lake Park, New Era, Pleasant Prairie, Buffalo Shores, Loud Thunder Scout Camp, and Midway Beach. This includes Interstate 280 between mile markers 1 and 7. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately.
