628 WWUS81 KILN 292313 SPSILN Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Wilmington OH 713 PM EDT Sat Jun 29 2024 OHZ071-072-292330- Warren OH-Clinton OH- 713 PM EDT Sat Jun 29 2024 ...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF NORTHEASTERN CLERMONT...NORTHERN BROWN...EASTERN WARREN AND WESTERN CLINTON COUNTIES THROUGH 730 PM EDT... At 713 PM EDT, strong thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Waynesville to near Morrow to 7 miles east of Loveland, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph, pea size hail, frequent cloud-to-ground lightning, and very heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Hail may cause minor damage to vegetation. Lightning can cause serious injury or death. Visibility will be poor and hydroplaning is possible. Locations impacted include... Wilmington, Blanchester, Morrow, Woodville, Maineville, Clarksville, Harveysburg, Midland, Butlerville, Pleasant Plain, Oregonia, State Route 123 at State Route 132, Fort Ancient, Middleboro, Oakland, Dallasburg, Westboro, Cuba, State Route 350 at US Route 22, and Ogden. This includes I-71 in Ohio between mile markers 33 and 47. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a sturdy building. Motorists should slow down and use extra caution. When thunder roars, go indoors! Do not stay in the open or seek shelter under trees when lightning threatens. Residents in these areas should remain alert. If these storms become stronger, then a warning may be needed. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight EDT for southwestern Ohio.
