400 FNUS53 KJKL 160842 FWFJKL Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Kentucky National Weather Service Jackson KY 442 AM EDT Sun Jun 16 2024 .DISCUSSION...A strong upper level ridge and high pressure system are in place to our east. Despite light winds, this will allow for deep warm air advection into the region, increasing temperatures and humidity values. Today and through the rest of the week, expect high temperatures in the 90s, with humidity making it feel in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible this afternoon, mainly south of the Hal Rodgers/Hwy-80 corridor. These will quickly dissipate heading into the evening and overnight as we lose the daytime mixing. All of eastern Kentucky will then see scattered showers/storms for Monday. After Monday, the next chance for rain won`t be until Saturday, and even then it`s only slight chances.
