...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN GREENE...
NORTHEASTERN LENOIR...NORTH CENTRAL CRAVEN...SOUTHEASTERN PITT AND
WEST CENTRAL BEAUFORT COUNTIES THROUGH 315 PM EDT...

At 222 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Winterville to near
Dawson. Movement was east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Greenville, Washington, Winterville, Ayden, Grifton, Snow Hill,
Shelmerdine, Calico, Black Jack, Maury, Ormondsville, Wilmar,
Roundtree, Chocowinity, Washington Park, Grimesland, Simpson,
Hookerton, and Gardnerville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.
