EASTERN MARQUETTE...SOUTHWESTERN SCHOOLCRAFT AND SOUTHWESTERN ALGER
COUNTIES THROUGH 200 PM EDT/100 PM CDT/...

At 136 PM EDT/1236 PM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 7 miles north of Rock to
near Rapid River to 6 miles north of Cedar River. Movement was
northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Escanaba, Munising, Gladstone, Rapid River, Nahma, Chatham, M-94
between Steuben and Manistique, Shingleton, Garden Corners, Trenary,
Steuben, U.S. 41 between Trenary and Rapid River, Isabella, Fayette,
Ford River, Ensign, Forest Lake, Chicago Lake, Kiva, and Diffin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 500 PM EDT/400 PM
CDT/ for north central Upper and south central Upper Michigan.
