...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN MCDOWELL...
SOUTHEASTERN MINGO...WESTERN WYOMING AND SOUTHEASTERN LOGAN COUNTIES
THROUGH 500 PM EDT...

At 425 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Mallory, or 15 miles southeast of Logan, moving southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail possible with it
         and other storms in the area.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Pineville, Oceana, Man, Hanover, R.d. Bailey Lake, Mallory, Gilbert
Creek, Hinch, Amherstdale-Robinette, Gilbert, Davy, Iaeger, Clear
Fork, Panther, Coal Mountain, Hampden, Pie, Bruno, Wolf Pen, and
Meador.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This and other storms in the area may intensify, so be certain to
monitor local radio stations and available television stations for
additional information and possible warnings from the National
Weather Service.
