Today may be the largest lightning day of the year so far as scattered thunderstorms are expected to form along a boundary between the Bering low and the Interior ridge extending from the Western Brooks Range to Fairbanks to the Alcan Border. We`ve already seen some thunderstorms move through Noatak Valley early this morning with more expected later this afternoon lasting through the night. Isolated PM thunderstorms will be possible NE of Ambler for tomorrow and east of Shungnak on Friday. Red Flag Conditions are expected today for the South Slopes of the Western Brooks Range and Upper Kobuk Valleys diminishing tomorrow as winds decrease and RH`s increase in the region. Saturday will be hot and dry except for the chance of isolated showers in the Lower Yukon Valley, the chance of isolated thunderstorms will return Sunday afternoon for the west Interior.
