NORTHEASTERN MCKINLEY AND SOUTHEASTERN SAN JUAN COUNTIES THROUGH 245
PM MDT...

At 210 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Chaco Canyon to 14 miles southwest of Grants.
Movement was east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Grants, Crownpoint, Thoreau, Milan, Bluewater Lake State Park, Lake
Valley, Bluewater Lake, McCartys, Prewitt, and Chaco Canyon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If threatening weather approaches your area, take shelter in a sturdy
building.

Frequent dangerous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these
storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek
a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
