...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS APPROACHING THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Block Island Sound...
  Buzzards Bay...
  Narragansett Bay...
  Rhode Island Sound...

At 624 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and lightning. These
thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 12 nm
southwest of Weymouth to near East Providence to 7 nm west of
Cranston, moving south at 20 knots.

Locations impacted include...
Charlestown Breachway, Dutch Harbor Light, Block Island Sound,
Sakonnet Point Light, Mount Hope Bay, West Island In Buzzards Bay,
Castle Hill Light, Rocky Point, Narragansett Bay, Round Hill Point,
Horseneck Beach, Quonset Point, Melville, Popasquash Point, Warwick
Light, Bristol Harbor, Buzzards Bay Entrance Tower, Plum Beach Light,
Conimicut Light, and Buzzards Bay.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

This strong thunderstorms will produce winds to around 30 knots...and
could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A Special Marine Warning may
be issued when these storms reach the nearshore waters. Boaters
should consider heading for shore before these storms arrive.
