Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
324 PM EDT Fri Jun 21 2024

.DISCUSSION...
A weak tropical disturbance will push in additional moisture
across the area overnight tonight into Saturday with some
scattered showers mainly southeast of I-20. Winds weaken and
shift out of the south-southeast for Saturday, with gusts only
10-12 mph. Showers activity will become a bit more widespread
across the Midlands and CSRA Saturday afternoon as moisture
fills back in across the entire area. Much the same is expected
for Sunday and Monday. A front will try to push through the
area with a system Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing elevated
rain chances for midweek; confidence is low if the front will
actually push far enough south for an airmass change.

Fog potential for tonight: Patchy fog and low stratus is possible
particularly across the eastern Midlands and Pee Dee.
