West Fork Des Moines River at Estherville affecting Emmet County. West Fork Des Moines River at Humboldt affecting Humboldt County. East Fork Des Moines River near Algona affecting Humboldt and Kossuth Counties. .Heavy rain has fallen across much of northern Iowa from Friday evening into the early morning hours Saturday. Many locations in the Upper Des Moines River basin have received at least three to four inches of rainfall. This is expected to lead to moderate to major flooding in several locations. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... For the latest river and stream observations and forecasts refer to weather.gov/desmoines/water. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
