.NOW...
Through 500 pm, scattered showers and possible isolated embedded
thunderstorms will wax and wane across the coastal waters of the
Florida Keys and in the vicinity of the island chain. Movement of
this activity will be slow and erratic but will generally move to the
east. Mariners encountering the strongest activity can expect bouts
of moderate to heavy rainfall reducing visibilities below 3 miles,
wind gusts near 20 knots, and a rare cloud to surface lightning
strike. Select island communities can expect up to one quarter of an
inch of rainfall, mainly between Cudjoe Key and Big Pine Key and in
Key Largo.
