567 FNUS53 KMQT 140923 FWFMQT FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN National Weather Service Marquette MI 523 AM EDT Fri Jun 14 2024 .DISCUSSION: Quiet and dry conditions return today and hold at least into Saturday afternoon. Winds generally out of the north today may gust to near 10-15mph across the eastern UP, but will increase out of the south Saturday with gusts up to 20mph possible across most of the UP. Chances for showers and storms finally begin to sneak into the far western UP by early Saturday evening. Unsettled weather returns for next week with frequent opportunities for rain. Though temperatures will be climbing well above normal early in the period, with highs well into the 80s Monday and Tuesday, frequent rain chances and high dewpoints should mitigate fire concerns.
