...Windy again this Afternoon and Evening...

.DISCUSSION...A secondary front with a strong upper level jet max
over the region will bring windy conditions with showers and even
a thunderstorm (primarily across SW Mt) this afternoon and
evening. Winds will be strong enough for choppy conditions on
Flathead Lake where a lake wind advisory is in effect. Stronger
showers and/or a storm this afternoon will have gusty outflows
over 45 mph.

Thursday and Friday, the ridge will have warmed things up to
about 10 degrees above normal for this time of year. This marks the
beginning of our first extended hot spell of the year. Most of
the valleys in western Montana will warm into the low 80s, with
central Idaho low elevation valleys reaching the low 90s.

The hotter than normal weather continues into the weekend. It`s
looking like Saturday will be the hottest day of the week. The
lower valleys of central Idaho may approach the 100 degree mark
with readings in the mid 80s to lower 90s across western Montana.

A front will move through the region Sunday and briefly flatten
the ridge. The increased instability and moisture will trigger
showers and thunderstorms across the entire Northern Rockies.

A few showers and thunderstorms will linger across southwest
Montana Monday afternoon. Otherwise, ridging will re- establish
itself over the NR through at least the middle of next week thus
continuing above normal temperatures and mainly dry conditions.

&&

.AVIATION...All terminals will experience gusty westerly winds
today with peak wind conditions between 04/1900z to 05/0100z.
Frequent gusts 20-25 mph will occur. Showers will also occur
across the entire NR today. Some stronger showers will be capable
of producing gusty outflow winds over 45-50 mph.
