...Discussion from SFOFWFMTR...

As the first in a series of cold fronts moves through today,
afternoon temperatures are suppressed and RH is generally above
30%, even in the driest locations. If any fires do start, strong
and breezy winds could be an issue, particularly along the coast
and in some gaps and passes where the winds are quite strong. Some
stations in the East Bay hills are reporting gale force gusts.
After the front moves through this evening, cold air aloft could
help trigger a few showers and thunderstorms Monday. A second cold
front will move through on Wednesday, bringing more cold weather
and renewed thunderstorm chances.

...Discussion from SFOFWFEKA...

Showers and isolated to scattered thunderstorms this afternoon into
Monday morning mainly over zone 283, especially over northeastern
Trinity County where several lightning strikes have been detected
this afternoon. Chances for wetting rain will increase to 35 to 45%
by this evening in zone 283 and then shift into zone 277 by early
Monday morning. Showers are expected to tapper off this evening,
with lingering showers into Monday morning. Temperatures are
forecast to remain below normal through mid week across the
interior. Light offshore flow will developed tonight into Monday,
however RH`s overnight recoveries will be higher. A secondary
trough will bring another chance for wetting rain and gusty
northwesterly winds by mid week. A warming and drying trend is
forecast for the latter portion of the week.
