No critical fire weather concerns through at least Saturday. Isolated to scattered afternoon thunderstorms will favor the western and northern high terrain in the early afternoon, with longer lived thunderstorms moving south over the northeastern highlands late afternoon and evening. Gusty and erratic winds will spread across much of western, central and northern NM from this activity in the late afternoon and early evening today thru Thursday. A surge of monsoonal moisture arrives Friday, peaking Saturday. This will lower mixing heights and ventilation considerably with lower temperatures and higher humidity. Scattered to widespread showers with at least isolated embedded thunderstorms will be favored Friday and Saturday. Drier and warmer conditions return Sunday into early next week. ................................................................
