This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and tonight.

Cold air moving in overnight will result in rain turning into a
wintry mix of precipitation over portions of northeastern to east
central South Dakota. The highest precipitation amounts of around a
half of an inch to an inch are forecast over east central South
Dakota, mainly south of Roberts and Grant Counties.

Light icing of a few hundredths of an inch or less will be possible
over the eastern slopes of the Prairie Coteau by daybreak Tuesday,
from near Summit through South Shore. At this time, the highest
chances for accumulating snow of around 1 to 2 inches are across
Deuel County. While most of the snow will quickly melt as it touches
the wet and warm ground, a quick burst of snow could result in brief
slushy roads. The Tuesday morning commute may be impacted if light
freezing rain or snow occur.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

The Tuesday morning commute may be impacted if light freezing rain
or snow occur overnight. Precipitation will come to an end by around
9 AM Tuesday, with temperatures warming into the upper 30s to low
40s by early afternoon.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation may be requested. Weather spotters are encouraged
to submit precipitation type and snowfall reports to the National
Weather Service in Aberdeen. The public can submit reports on our web
page, Facebook page, or our X feed.
