.DISCUSSION...

A cold front is exiting eastern South Dakota into western Minnesota
this afternoon, with light rain and drizzle coming to an end, and
winds shifting out of the northwest. Minimum Relative humidity today
will stay mainly above 70 percent east of the Missouri River, and in
the 40 percent range west of the Missouri River.

Patchy to areas of fog is forecast Wednesday morning primarily east
of the James River. Visibility may fall to around 1 mile or less
across east central South Dakota. Drier weather will slowly take
hold as an area of high pressure builds in from Montana and North
Dakota through Friday.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Wednesday afternoon...The grassland fire danger
index will reach the low category.
