.DISCUSSION...
A low approaches the Eastern Bering Sea late Saturday into
Sunday. The low`s strength when it enters the Bering will be around
995 millibars. Sustained winds of 5 to 10 kt out of the SE to E on
Saturday strengthen to 10 to 15 kt out of the NE for Sunday as the
low approaches from the S. Wave heights will initially be very much
on the lower side, with around 1-3 feet expected through Saturday.
The situation becomes a little more agitated on Sunday, with wave
heights of 2-4 ft. Primary Wave period will be on the lower
side - between 6 and 10 seconds. The low is expected to be far
enough away that showers will be infrequent Saturday but this changes
on Sunday as the low approaches Southwest Alaska and rain becomes more
prevalent.
