SHORT TERM...Today through Monday night...A cutoff low remains near southern CA, with an extensive cloud shield over OR and southern ID. This cloud shield has limited radiational cooling and patchy fog. Expect decreasing clouds later this morning with sunny breaks in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain mild with highs around 10-15 degrees above normal through Sunday. Temperatures in the Snake Plain will be in the low to mid 60s today and again on Sunday. The upper level trough over southern CA will move northward into the Great Basin on Sunday. A warm front with the system will bring rain showers to the area on Sunday morning before lifting northward in the afternoon. Expect some partial clearing behind the warm front, with another mild day on Sunday. Snow levels hover around 9000-10000` with the warm front. On Sunday evening the center of the trough will move over southern ID, with wrap around moisture bringing precipitation to eastern OR and southwest ID early Monday morning. Snow levels begin to fall to around 6500-7500` on Monday morning as the system exits. Temperatures on Monday will be around 5 degrees cooler than Sunday, but still around 5 degrees above normal. LONG TERM...Tuesday through Saturday...Forecast confidence remains low in the long term. But still favors seasonable and unsettled conditions with a series of systems moving into the Pacific NW. The latest projections bring another system down the West Coast into another cutoff low off the CA coast by Tuesday and Wednesday with scattered showers. A brief break on Wednesday between systems, and then another cut off low dives south along the West Coast on Thursday and Friday. && .BOI WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES... ID...None.
