.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Tuesday...Overnight tonight and into
Tuesday morning, wind gusts up to 60 mph are possible along the
ridgeline of the Front Range mountains. Downslope winds up to 25
mph are expected along the foothills, especially in the wind prone
areas. By late Tuesday morning, a weak cold front will bring
northerly wind gusts up to 25-30 mph across the plains. Elevated
to briefly critical fire weather conditions will occur,
particularly in the southeastern plains, where RH values will
briefly dip below 15%. Winds will weaken across the forecast area
by the evening. Smoke dispersal conditions will be Fair to Very
Good across the area.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...Above
normal temperatures are expected Wednesday through Friday.
Relative humidity values are expected to briefly dip into the
teens each day. However, relatively light winds will limit
elevated fire weather concerns. A system is expected to arrive
late Friday/Saturday, which will bring light snow showers to the
mountains with minimal accumulations. Areas on the plains could
see precipitation on Saturday, however confidence is low (20-30%
chance) at this time. Smoke dispersal will be Fair to Good in the
mountains on Wednesday, Fair to Excellent in the mountains and
plains on Thursday and Friday, and Fair to Very Good in mountains
and plains on Saturday.
