.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Thursday...
Localized heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding over the burn
scars this afternoon and evening, as well as over areas that also
received rainfall Tuesday afternoon. Shower and thunderstorm
activity will diminish around 2100 MDT, although a few weak storms
may linger until a bit later in the evening, particularly over the
mountains and easternmost Colorado plains. Humidities will stay
above 50% overnight across the region.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Thursday night through Monday...
There will be a chance (~30%) for showers and thunderstorms Thursday
and Friday afternoon although the coverage of showers will be more
isolated in nature. The main concerns will storms that develop will
be gusty outflows up to 40-50 mph. Above average temperatures (and
potentially triple digits) return for Sunday and Monday. Despite
humidities dropping into the teens Saturday through Monday
afternoons, we do not expect critical fire weather conditions due to
the weak winds in place.
