.DISCUSSION...Tonight and Saturday...Above normal moisture shifts
into the region today resulting in scattered showers and
thunderstorms this afternoon with an increased chance for wetting
rain for the high country. It will be drier at the surface on the
plains reducing wetting rain chances and increasing the threat
for gusty outflow winds with some storms. The east plains will be
the driest with relative humidity values dropping 17-25 percent.
Winds should stay light with the exception of the very far east
plains with breezy conditions in the afternoon. Widespread
critical conditions not expected.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Saturday night through Wednesday...Sunday
and Monday look to be hot, dry, and windy across the high terrain
and South Park areas leading to elevated or critical fire weather
conditions. Elsewhere, while hot and dry, the winds will be the
limiting factor in fire potential. Afterwards, hot and dry
conditions are the main concerns Sunday through the end of the new
work week.
