.DISCUSSION...

No precipitation is expected through the forecast period. Breezy
southwest winds at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph will continue
for another hour or two with the predominant transport flow.
However, high terrain to the west/southwest appears to be blocking
this flow at times, with the portable DFPC RAWS station reporting
breezy north-northeast winds instead possibly due to upsloping
during daytime heating. We expect winds to become lighter (<7 mph)
and turn to the southeast for a few hours after sunset before
southerly downsloping winds at 10-15 mph kick in during the early
morning hours. Humidity recovery should be excellent, with maximum
overnight humidities in the 75% to 85% range.

Winds Wednesday morning will start out southerly, with a few
sporadic gusts (20-25 mph) from the west possible due to some weak
mountain wave enhancement. Similar to today, we expect breezy
southwesterly winds to begin in the early afternoon (1200-1400) at
10-15 mph, with gusts up to 30-35 mph. However, the terrain to
the southwest may partially shield the burn area from the
southwest surface flow and induce north-northeast winds at times.
We expect minimum humidities around 30%. Skies should be mostly
clear with perhaps some thin high clouds developing late in the
afternoon. Good to very good smoke dispersal is expected between
1000 and 1700.
