.DISCUSSION...

No significant changes to the forecast for the first half of the
week. Tuesday is still expected to see an increase in
northwesterly winds along with above normal temperatures (low to
mid 70s) that will lower RH values into the teens for the
afternoon. Slightly cooler temperatures and lighter winds will
return for Wednesday that will bring RH values up into the mid 20%
range, but lighter winds will mean less mixing and Poor smoke
dispersal for the day.

For the 13th, temperatures will remain above normal and RH values
are expected to drop into the lower 20% range, with mixing heights
climbing to 4,500-5,000 feet in the afternoon. Winds are expected
to start out from the west in the morning before turning to the
S to SSE for the afternoon, with gusts to 15 mph possible.
Guidance currently has the burn site right on the fringe of Poor
vs Fair smoke dispersal (Greeley reaches Fair for a brief time in
the afternoon), but if slightly increased mixing or stronger winds
develop over what the current forecast portrays, this could reach
Fair status in the afternoon, and there is still time for this to
change.

The pattern will begin to shift on Friday as the ridge moves
eastward and increased moisture returns to the region ahead of our
next potential weather system. Afternoon RH will be between 25-30%
and Poor smoke dispersal is expected. There will be increasing
chances for light rain/snow showers after sunset Friday and this
will continue through Saturday as an upper-level trough passes
across the Rockies. The pattern looks to become more active for
the extended period, with more seasonal-like temperatures expected
from Saturday onward.
