NORTHEASTERN DENVER...NORTHWESTERN ARAPAHOE...SOUTHWESTERN WELD AND
WESTERN ADAMS COUNTIES UNTIL 715 PM MDT...
At 626 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong
thunderstorms near Fort Lupton, or 24 miles south of Greeley, moving
northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Aurora, Thornton, Commerce City, Northglenn, Brighton, Denver
International Airport, D.I.A Terminal and Concourses, Fort Lupton,
Lochbuie, Hudson, Kersey, Keenesburg, Wiggins, Prospect Valley,
Roggen, Milton Reservoir and Barr Lake.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
Heavy rain is occurring with this storm and may lead to flooding. Do
not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
Prepare for sudden gusty winds ahead of the rainfall. Secure loose
objects and move to a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
