Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
127 PM EDT Fri Oct 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Tonight, nearly calm conditions are expected again with
high pressure overhead before it starts to slide offshore
on Saturday. This will turn light winds out of the southwest
through the day Saturday with increasing moisture, though dry
weather likely prevails. Sunday brings a cold front through the area,
likely between the early afternoon and evening hours, where isolated
to scattered showers and storms will be possible. Breezy southerly winds
ahead of the front are expected before winds shift toward the west
and eventually northwest behind the front into Monday. Dry weather
likely moves back in for the work week, but the main headline will
be a very dry airmass, especially Monday and Tuesday where low afternoon
RH values between 30-35% are expected. A couple locations dropping in the
upper 20s percent is not out of the realm of possibilities, though winds
are expected to be fairly light through the week.

Fog potential tonight: Patchy fog possible tonight especially
near rivers.
