Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
201 AM EDT Tue Jun 17 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Showers and thunderstorms remain in the forecast this week as
high pressure near Bermuda maintains a warm and moist air mass
over the region. However, the lack of a large scale trigger to
enhance thunderstorm development should keep chances on the lower
end, 20 to 40 percent today and 10 to 20 percent for Wednesday.
The combination of heat and humidity will result in heat index
values in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees each afternoon
through the period. A cold front is expected to move into the
region late Thursday into Thursday night and this should be our
best chance for showers and thunderstorms during the next week,
though rain chances continue into the upcoming weekend.

Fog Potential Tonight: Fog is not expected.
