Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
341 AM MDT Mon Aug 18 2025

.DISCUSSION...Afternoon RH values are expected to begin dropping
below critical thresholds today for our far western counties and
this is expected to continue through the middle of the week as a
high pressure ridge overtakes the region and a potent late summer
heatwave takes over. Thankfully the pressure gradient should
remain weak enough in these areas that we are not expecting
red flag environments as winds will remain sub-critical, but we
will monitor through the middle of the week. Late in the week and
into the weekend, an influx of cooler temperatures and mositure
will keep red flag conditions at bay.
