week, with afternoon temperatures of 100-105 common each day.

  upcoming week.

.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 103 PM CDT Sun Aug 30 2026

Hot conditions are expected throughout the forecast with highs
in the upper 90s to low 100s each day and upper 60s to upper
70s each night. There will be a persistent trough of low
pressure across portions of western Kansas throughout the
forecast in which a few thunderstorms may form along during peak
heating. Otherwise expect dry conditions with winds from a
southerly direction ahead of this trough and east to northeast
winds north of this trough. Apparent temperatures look to reach
towards 105 degrees this afternoon but have decided with
neighboring CWAs to not issue a heat advisory at this time. In
addition, low RHs and breezy conditions look to elevate fire
weather risk this afternoon across central Kansas where winds
are stronger.
