362 FXUS64 KEWX 071054 AFDEWX Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio TX 554 AM CDT Sun Jun 7 2026 ...New AVIATION... .KEY MESSAGES... - Mainly seabreeze showers or storms next week favored over the Coastal Plains. - Warm and humid weather next week with most areas remaining dry. && .SHORT TERM... (Today through Monday) Issued at 148 AM CDT Sun Jun 7 2026 The upper level low is now located over far North Texas expected to move into the Central Plains by this afternoon. We now enter a period of drier weather, though warm and humid conditions continue. Rain chances remain mainly along and east of Highway 77 today, then low rain chances return in the afternoon tomorrow associated with the seabreeze. Overall, most will remain dry from here on out but our rain chances mainly from I-35 over into the coastal plains are non-zero. The humid and relatively warm conditions will bring heat index values into the upper 90s and triple digits for most, a trend that continues into the long term forecast. && .LONG TERM... (Monday night through Saturday) Issued at 148 AM CDT Sun Jun 7 2026 Ridging will be the predominant feature over the area next week with mainly drier and warmer conditions forecast. Breezy southeasterly flow will be seen each afternoon and evening with high temperatures increasing slowly into late week. By Friday, widespread highs in the 90s are expected with heat index values creeping into the upper 90s to around the 105 degree territory. While dry weather is favored, seabreeze showers and storms cannot be ruled out each day in the afternoon to evening favored east of the I-35 corridor. Moderate heat risk is expected across the majority of the area through mid- week, then some major heat risk develops in South Central Texas late week. This is largely due to the expected warm lows each night from the low to mid 70s making it difficult for some to recover from daytime temperatures. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 550 AM CDT Sun Jun 7 2026 Looks like the ceilings are going to hold at MVFR this morning. There is still some guidance showing IFR, but we`re not seeing any observations. VFR conditions will return to all terminals by around noon. MVFR ceilings will redevelop late this evening. The San Antonio airports will eventually drop to IFR. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
