.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time, as
relative humidity values and winds will remain outside of critical
thresholds.
As the tropical low pressure system slowly meanders inland into
southeast Georgia, atmospheric moisture will continue to spread into
the forecast area today. Minimum RH values will have a wide range
this afternoon, in the 30s and 40s in north and west Georgia and in
the 50s in east-central Georgia where cloud cover and rain chances
will be highest today. Mixing heights will be impacted by rainfall
and cloud cover in east-central Georgia, where they will range from
3000-4000 ft. Elsewhere, in the area, mixing heights will rise to as
high as 5000-7000 ft this afternoon.
Winds will become light after sunset, shifting to S at 5 mph or
less. During the morning hours on Sunday, winds will shift to W,
then increase to 8-12 mph by the afternoon. Minimum RH values on
Sunday afternoon will range from 30-40 percent across the majority
of the forecast area. Temperatures will be quite warm today and
tomorrow. Outside of the higher elevations in far north Georgia,
high temperatures will rise into the mid 90s today and mid to upper
90s tomorrow. Heat index values tomorrow afternoon could furthermore
range from 98-104 degrees.
