.DISCUSSION...

Good morning. Hot conditions will continue today, with temperatures
increasing into the low 90s by 2 PM and continuing through the
afternoon. With ample humidity, heat index values will exceed 100
degrees from 1 PM to 6 PM, with a maximum value of 103 degrees.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms have begun for the day, but
remain south of the site at this time. Chances for thunderstorms
will increase through the early afternoon and reach as high as 40-50
percent by the 2 PM through 8 PM. All storms that occur will produce
frequent lightning. Locally heavy rainfall will also be possible,
especially when storms linger over a common location for a long
time, which could lead to isolated flash flooding concerns. A
isolated severe storm or two will moreover be possible, which will
be capable of producing strong, potentially damaging wind gusts.
Outside of thunderstorms, prevailing winds will be W/NW at 3-5 mph,
becoming nearly calm this evening. Please feel free to contact us if
you have any further questions or concerns.
