LAST UPDATED: 645Z

- A cold front is helping scattered rain showers to develop
  currently, and this activity is expected to last through this
  evening. Some sub 40 degree temperatures are expected on Sunday
  night and Tuesday night. This includes a non zero chance of
  dropping into the upper 20s in low elevation locations.

- A stronger chance for rain is expected Sunday into Monday night,
  and at least a wetting rain expected.

.DISCUSSION...

Tonight into tomorrow night: A low pressure system associated
with a cold front is currently advancing through the region. On
and off rain showers will slowly progress southeastward before
coming to an end after 5 PM today across the north. Lingering
showers are expected across the south tonight. A wetting rain (one
tenth of an inch of rain or more) is most likely to occur in
Phillips and western Valley county from now through noon today.

A shortwave ridge is expected to move in on Saturday night before
the next moderate strength trough moves in. On Sunday through
Monday night, rainfall totals are expected to range from around 5
hundredths up to 8 tenths of an inch. The higher end of this range
exists over Phillips county and areas close to the Canadian
border. A Lake Wind Advisory will be considered for breezy
conditions on Sunday and Monday for Fort Peck Lake. Nelson
Reservoir and Medicine Lake are not part of these advisories, but
will still see challenging boating conditions.

Tuesday Moving Forward: A weak ridging pattern is expected to be
in place with a brief chance of showers on Wednesday. There is
uncertainty on rain amounts, but there is less than 5 hundredths
at any given location as of the latest forecast.

FORECAST CONFIDENCE & DEVIATIONS:
Increased PoPs and winds through this evening.

There is moderate confidence in rain amounts through Tuesday.

There is moderate to high confidence of wind gusts reaching 30 to
40 mph on Sunday and Monday on Fort Peck Lake.

FLIGHT CAT RANGE: VFR

DISCUSSION: An upper trough affecting the region is allowing rain
showers to show up on radar. This activity is expected to slowly
push southeastward to affect TAF sites through about 23Z. Cloud
heights are expected to stay above 3500 feet AGL and visibilities
reduced at most down to 6 miles.

WIND: North at 15 to 20 with gusts to 30 knots through 10Z,
decreasing to 7 to 14 knots. Then northwest at 11 to 17 knots
after 18Z.
