Weather Summary for Portions of the Central Plains
National Weather Service Hastings NE
518 PM CDT Mon Jun 24 2024

Expect increasing clouds with scattered thunderstorms across the
area this evening and tonight. The most likely time frame for
thunderstorms across south central Nebraska and north central Kansas
this evening will be from 6 PM to midnight. Not everywhere will see
storms but in places that do...some of those storms may be severe
with hail to the size of quarters and wind gusts to 60 mph.
Overnight low temperatures will range from the mid 60s to the mid
70s. Tuesday will be another very hot day with high temperatures in
the 90s to low 100s...and heat index values in the afternoon and
early evening will reach 105 degrees. There is a slight chance of
thunderstorms again Tuesday afternoon and evening with large hail
and damaging winds...and perhaps an isolated tornado possible with
the strongest storms. Wednesday and Thursday will be cooler with
highs ranging from the 80s up to the mid 90s...and there will be at
least a chance of thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening
both days. Overnight lows will be in the 60s and 70s.
