...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Small stream and arroyo flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is occurring.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Utah, including the following
  county, San Juan along Highway 163 from the Arizona border to
  Bluff.

* WHEN...Until 845 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 539 PM MDT, Trained weather spotters reported heavy rain
    in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing
    or expected to begin shortly. Between 0.8 and 1.5 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.2 to 0.5 inches are possible
    in the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Mexican Hat, Halchita, Goulding, Tselakai Dezza, Bluff and
    Oljeto and areas along Highway 163.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging currents in a matter
of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
