Predominantly zonal flow aloft will promote a relatively quiet
period across Hawaii over the next week. Light rain is expected
across the state with potential for isolated heavier rainfall over
Maui and The Big Island this weekend. The latest GFS and Euro
guidance have continued to trend drier over these areas. The Euro,
GFS and their respective ensemble means have a signal for a surge
of tropical moisture to advect northward toward the islands ahead
of an approaching upper trough early next week. However, this
doesn`t translate into notable QPF over the state at this time.
Trade winds will likely persist and gradually weaken over the next
week.
