High pressure ridge north of the state will weaken as a front approaches from the northwest tonight through Tuesday. Meanwhile a weak surface trough may develop southeast of the Big Island. Moderate to fresh easterly trades will ease to light to moderate and veer east southeast overnight into Tuesday. The front will weaken near the far northwest coastal waters Wednesday before lifting north while the trough dissipates. A new high will build behind the front and allow trades to rebound to moderate to strong speeds during the second half of the week. $$ Hawaiian waters within 40 nautical miles including the channels- .TONIGHT...East winds 15 to 20 knots.
