Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
309 AM CDT Mon Sep 7 2026

.DISCUSSION...

Generally drier conditions are expected across most of Northern
Alabama today in the wake of a cold front passage Sunday. High
temperatures will be a bit milder, ranging from the upper 80s over
NE Alabama and the higher terrain, to low/mid 90s over NW Alabama.
Minimum relative humidities this afternoon should range from the
mid 40s percent most areas, to mid 50s percent over NE Alabama.
Daytime heating of residual moisture and lift provided by the
higher terrain could lead to isolated shower and thunderstorm
development this afternoon across far NE Alabama. Generally Good
smoke dispersion rates are forecast today.

Fog potential over the next few days: Not forecast at this time.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Not forecast at this time.
