884 AWUS83 KICT 312206 RWSICT KSZ032-033-047>053-067>072-082-083-091>096-098>100-011015- Regional Weather Summary National Weather Service Wichita KS 506 PM CDT Sun Aug 31 2025 Widely scattered showers and a few rumbles of thunder could be found across Kansas this afternoon. Temperatures ranged from the upper 60s in the far northeast corner of the state to the mid 80s in the far southwest corner. Winds were light and variable in the east with a more northerly direction in the west at speeds of 5 to 15 mph. CLoud cover was scattered in the western two thirds and overcast in the eastern third. Showers and some thunderstorms will be possible into the evening and overnight across much of the Central Plains with the highest chances in far eastern Nebraska, northeastern Kansas and northern Missouri. Periods of moderate to heavy rain along with lightning will be the main concerns for any storms. Temperatures are forecast to fall to the lower 50s in western Nebraska and northeastern Colorado to the upper 60s in eastern Oklahoma. Light and variable winds are anticipated overnight. Precipitation chances persist into Labor Day especially over eastern Nebraska, eastern Kansas and northern Missouri. The cloud cover and precipitation will keep lower temperatures in those areas with daytime highs only in the mid 60s to lower 70s. Otherwise the Central Plains will be in the mid 70s to mid 80s. Northerly winds at 10 to 15 mph are expected in the High Plains with the rest of the area having light and variable winds. $$
